Services
  • Shall assist members of the Post, auxiliary, Sons of Legion, their widows and orphans with matters related to veterans' benefits, Veteran Affairs and Veterans Service Officers (VSO)

  • Provide up to date information and education to the members of the Post on their Veteran benefits

  • Represent the Post with matters related to Veteran Affair, VA medical Centers and State VSOs

  • Shall perform their duties in accordance with the instructions contained in the American Legion Post Service Guide for Service Officers

  • Shall perform their duties under the general supervision of the Department Service Officer

  • Suicide Prevention and Mental Health referrals
Our Mission to Veterans
To be an initial point of contact regarding veteran issues by providing veterans in the community where the post is located with basic information and assistance, including referral as directed by the Department Service Officer (DSO). PSO will coordinate his/her efforts to assist a veteran or dependent with an accredited Veteran Service Officer (VSO), according to the customs of his or her department.
Meet the P.S.O.'s

Ellsworth "Tony" Williams
A Combat Army Veteran, having faithfully and honorably served on active duty in the Army for over 24 years (8 enlisted and 16 Commissioned), including service during Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom receiving numerous military awards including a Bronze Star and 3 Meritorious Service Medals (MSM).  After retiring at the rank of Major in 2007, he continues to serve his fellow veterans by earning a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University and founding Veterans Counseling Veterans Inc. where he is currently the President/CEO.  Tony is the recipient of ample mental health counseling awards including the 2014 National Award “Social Service” from American Mental Health Counseling Association (AMHCA) and attained the Florida Mental Health Counselor Association (FMHCA) 2015 Poster Board Award, depicting the “Military Dependent and War”.
